Located on the campus of Oakdale Middle and High School in Allen Parish, the Oakdale School-Based Health Center (SBHC) provides easily accessible care during the school day for elementary, middle, and high school students. On-site staff include Nurse Practitioners Kerri McCullough and Jessica Floyd Thibodeaux, Medical Assistants Tyra Blow and Sadie Fuselier (who also manages the center), Registered Nurse and school nurse MacKenzie Gushlaw, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Jessie Deville. Together, they deliver comprehensive services, including well and sick visits, sports physicals, immunizations, diagnostic care, and counseling for stress, anxiety, bullying, substance abuse, and grief. Care is provided with zero co-payments for all enrolled students and faculty/staff, accepting Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and uninsured students with a signed consent and enrollment form on file (available through the school office or web page). Prescriptions can be delivered home via Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy or filled at nearby pharmacies at discounted rates. For year-round care during summers and school breaks, enrolled students can seamlessly visit the Woodworth Community Health Center at (318) 484-9588, while after-hours emergencies should always call 9-1-1.
